When preparing your household evacuation plan, don't forget to consider the needs of your pets or other animals. Identify pet-friendly accommodations in advance, such as hotels or make arrangements with friends or family members who can temporarily take care of your animals. When you organise your evacuation kit ensure that you also have an evacuation kit for your pet with essential supplies, including food, water, medications, and comfort items. It is also a good idea to invest in a pet travel cage in case of evacuation. Also ensure your pets have identification tags and update their microchip information if necessary.
